Use of Zemat machines in the energy industry

Machines used in the energy industry, such as distribution transformers, or power transformers, must ensure maximum safety – and this is achieved, among others, by with the help of insulating elements. This is one of the components of key importance for their quality of operation.

Specific machines using high-frequency technology manufactured by Zemat Technology Group are designed and built for a specific purpose. They are used to manufacture insulation components for various types of power transformers: insulation collars for high voltage transformers.

The quality of the insulation materials used in transformers is of great importance, even though they themselves have tiny value when compare to the finished product. These elements must be made with the highest accuracy, as any non-compliance with the standard from may endanger the safety of users.

Zemat machines works in the world’s largest transformer manufacturers. The quality of manufactured products meets their highest norms and standards. The insulating elements are made of pressboard, which is a material made of cellulose.

How does it work? The Presa machine enables the forming and drying of the insulating elements. The final products – high voltage transformer coil flanges – can be between 0.5 and 4 mm thick, depending on the equipment used. With the use of specialized tools and molds, the machine allows to form the required shape of the insulating collar. Due to exchangeable aluminum forms, it is possible to obtain collars with radius between 600 – 4000 mm. Collars can also be produced in two types: internal and external. The machine for energy industry works with a high-frequency generator, thanks to which the process of forming and drying is possible.

Pressboard is a type of cardboard and is perfect for insulating electrical appliances. Mainly pulp and waste paper are used for the production of pressboard.
