Tensile structures production

Tensile structures and membranes are products known and manufactured for years. Their production changes both in terms of the materials used, which are becoming more and more modern, as well as assembly and application possibilities. This is why machines for creating such products play a particularly important role. Both the functionality of the tensioned material and its aesthetics depend on their precision and quality of welds.

Tensile structures can take many different forms. Properly designed, they decorate a public or private space and can impress with their shape. They are made of special foils. The material that is used in the construction is in most cases made of polyvinyl chloride. This material is commonly known as PVC. The choice of this particular material is not accidental: it is characterized by excellent plasticity and ease of shaping or dimensioning. As a result, virtually any shape of a tensile structure can be designed. And the most important feature of PVC in connection to Zemat machines is the fact that it is ideal for welding with high frequency technology.

Many solutions are offered for the positioning and attachment of tension structures. All have in common that the material need to be spread over the given space. This can be done with hooks, lines, special brackets or weights. The structure can be stretched on poles or stretched between buildings – designers have a lot of freedom.

Tensile structures - production with the use of Zemat machines

Machines used for the production of tensile structures are mostly linear high-frequency welding machines. An example is the Tarpa PRO – an automatic welding machine with a travelling head. It was designed to produce large-size structures made of technical fabrics covered with PVC, PE, TPU or PU. It can perform seam welds up to 1700 mm long at a time.

The range of products that can be made on this type of machine is not limited only to tensile structures. Tarpa PRO can also be used for the production of tents, tarpaulins, roof covers and all large-size products made of foil.

Many features are the advantage of Tarpa PRO. It uses a linear drive and guides that ensure smooth – and precise head travel. This takes place on a work table that can be up to 100 m long, which allows for the largest orders to be taken. The construction allows to have two working welding heads on one track, which increases the production efficiency.

Another machine that can be used to produce tensile structures is SIMPLA. It is a stationary high-frequency welding machine designed for the production of smaller-sized products such as roofing or water tanks. This is a great solution to work efficiently and without any problems. SIMPLA uses an economical power generator which maintains low costs of production.

When creating membranes, a well-developed control system is of great importance. Zemat HF welders use an advanced system that provides full control of the welding processes and ensures the safety of the operator and the processed material.
